Meditation: Pranayama

February 22, 2020

Today we are discussing a Breath Balance Exercise called Pranayama. Please note information on Pranayama is FREELY available on the internet with many variations.

For years I felt intimidated and unsure about proper breathing techniques and meditation. My interest led me to further research and I found myself reading ‘The Presence Process’ by Michael Brown and ‘The Autobiography of a Yogi’ by Paramahansa Yogananda and ‘Inner Engineering’ by Sadhguru. This in turn led me to research the Science of Kriya Yoga and wanted to maintain my own spiritual beliefs while experiencing a deeper understanding of the inner energy balance that we can all achieve.

I wanted to truly understand and experience specific breathing techniques and meditation. What I ended up finding is ‘myself’, truly. This video focuses on Breath work “Pranayama”. It is very gentle but as always you should check with your doctor to make sure it’s right for you. As mentioned in my video, Pranayama was introduced to the Western world through many great Yogis.

What I am sharing in this video is a simple yet powerful breathing technique that is an important part of calming your breath and energy. This technique is often part of preparatory techniques of many meditation practices. You can use this technique on it’s own or part of your deeper meditation practice. I hope you enjoy this video as it is a series of videos on meditation and yoga.

PRANAYAMA is a form of breath control in yoga designed to synchronize the breath.

The information here is through the lineage of Babaji, Lahiri Mahasaya, Paramahansa Yogananda, and also the great Yogi and Mystic Sadhguru. He shares this information freely but also part of the Inner Engineering program of the Isha Foundation.

If you wish to learn more about the program, please visit https://www.innerengineering.com Sadhguru created a program that combines various techniques and postures (asanas) that is more of a complete energy system and meditation. I will not be sharing this with you here.
